Today is National Apron Day. I know, it's a random "holiday", but I chose to celebrate it because I love aprons. Most of the time I forget that love and leave my little collection untouched in the kitchen drawer, lonely, and perfectly clean.
Today, though, I took the challenge from the Apronista's blog and pulled one out to wear all day. It motivated me to do some baking and I made a few loaves of delicious whole wheat bread. I hope to later make a treat for our family's evening together. And most of the morning it's had 2 small children lying all over it - one getting his breakfast, and the other with watery eyes, a runny nose, and no energy to do anything except lie on his bed or the couch. With Mom. Lucky little apron, it got to take part in all the love. My apron reminds me that I'm a woman, a homemaker, a gardener, and most important - a mom. What a precious little apron you are.
