new carpet

How come when you need to be somewhere is when accidents happen and you're inevitably delayed? I was getting ready to walk out the door when I heard what sounded like a basket rolling down our stairs. It immediately hit me that our son must have tossed one of the plants from the top of the stairs down to the bottom (one of his favorite past times lately). I completely recognize that this was my fault for leaving them unprotected, but nevertheless I still experienced the impatience that often follows such a mess - the picture doesn't even show the worst of it. But look at his face. He thought it was pretty cool. In fact, before I remembered to put the gate up, I caught him pushing another plant toward the stairs. Did I mention that these are the stairs we recently had recarpeted just weeks ago? Oh well, kids will be kids. Despite the half hour it took to clean up since he wanted to sit on each step I vacuumed and throw more stuff down the stairs on top of the mess, I was able to give him a hug and tell him I love him even though he did something very naughty. I'm not sure he got it, but I felt better for all the frustration I felt :)

He does look rather proud. Lucky for you he is as cute as he is.. you can't get mad at a little boy with a face like that!

And i have the feeling, he is not even close to done testing the limits!!

There are lots of things I love about this pic. His face, all the dirt on the carpet, the baby laying on the stair (i hope he doesn't do this to the new little one), and the new carpet. It looks so nice.

I'm so sorry. I totally understand. Haydens new thing is to do something he knows is naughty and before I can say anything he shakes his finger and says "no, no, no."
